Roladuct has pickling and passivation facilities at all of its manufacturing sites

Roladucts pickling and passivation facilities have the capability of processing tube and pipe up to 10 metres long, as well as fittings. The process involves the immersion of the tubular product into a medium of 15% concentration of nitric acid with a small concentration of hydrofluoric acid.

This pickling process removes all ferrous contamination to the surface as a result of welding in the manufacturing process or general corrosion which has occurred in the field. It reinstates the chromium oxide layer of the stainless steel surface and it restores it corrosive resistance characteristic.

This service facility is available on a contract basis for customers whose own stainless steel products have been contaminated and require refurbishing.
